Talking About Preventative Plumbing Services

Hey there, my name is Russell Tyson. I am going to use this site to educate my readers about services offered by plumbing professionals. When I first started my company, I was unaware of all the necessary plumbing procedures needed to keep the toilets from backing up. My clients often failed to notify me when a toilet started to fail, likely due to embarrassment or a lack of time. Luckily, I was clued into the value of hiring plumbers to perform regular maintenance and repairs on the toilets to keep them in fine shape. I hope to detail those services on this site to inspire others to embrace preventative plumbing procedures.

2 Things To Look At When Getting A New Water Heater

by Charlie Clarke

Having a nice hot shower in the morning to get yourself ready for the day is a wonderful thing. What is less wonderful is when you get in the shower only to find out that you have no hot water because your water heater has died. If your water heater has died, then you need to call a plumber and have them come out and help you with the problem. It could be that you just need a repair, but you may need to have a brand new water heater installed. If you are going to get a new water heater, there are some things that you can look at to help you make the best decision.

Tank Size

One of the things that you can do is to take a look at the tank size. If you run out of hot water a lot sooner than you would like with your old water heater, you might want to look to see if you can get one with a larger tank. If you do get a larger tank, it may take longer than before to make sure that the water is all heated up. Talk to the plumber doing the installation work to see what they suggest and if they know of a water heater with a larger tank that will fit in the space that you have available.

Energy Efficiency

Another thing that you will want to take a look at is the energy efficiency of the water heater. You can do this by looking at the energy star rating of the heater. The higher the rating, the more energy-efficient it is. This is really important because you want to make sure that you are getting the hottest water for the energy that you are putting into running the water heater. When you are figuring in the energy efficiency, you need to remember that a water heater with a tank is going to run periodically so that the water in the tank stays at the temperature you want. The heater doesn't run just when new water gets added into the tank.

If you have any questions or concerns about what kind of water heater you should get installed in your house, you can always talk to the plumber in charge of the installation. They will be able to help you and answer any questions that you might have about water heater installation
